Here is what I could and could not verify on November 1, 2026. I could not find a live US discount on Grand Theft Auto VI at any retailer. The $79.99 Standard Edition price is the one published by outlets and retailer listings, and prices may have changed since I checked. BlitzRig does not track prices itself, so nothing below is a price-history claim of our own.
I also could not load current product pages from Walmart, Target, GameStop, the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Store. Check those directly before you pay.
What is verified on the GTA 6 pre-order
- Price: Standard is $79.99 and Ultimate is $99.99, per HotHardware (Oct. 19, 2026) and June pre-order launch coverage.
- Dates: Launch is Nov. 19. Boxed copies ship and become available for pickup from Nov. 12, per HotHardware. Digital Citizen reports preload opens Nov. 12 for digital and boxed-code copies.
- Physical means a code: The boxed version is a download code, not a disc.- Bonuses: The Vintage Vice City Pack applies to pre-orders and digital purchases made before Nov. 20. A month of GTA+ comes with digital pre-orders. Coverage conflicts on whether the Xbox side gets it, and the PlayStation Store listing reportedly sets a March 31, 2027 redemption deadline. Confirm on your store's page.
- Price guarantees: Amazon and Best Buy both say you pay the lowest price offered before release, so a later drop would reach you. This is protection, not a discount.
What I did not find
No US gift card promo, trade-in credit or PS5/Xbox bundle was verified. A one-day Best Buy gift card promotion on Aug. 22 reportedly ran, but it is over and I found no repeat. A UK Amazon cut to GBP 64.99 was reported by Gaming Bible on Oct. 12. It is UK only, I did not verify it, and it does not apply to you. HotHardware also considers a Black Friday GTA 6 discount unlikely, since launch lands about a week before the sales.
Digital or physical?
- Digital fits you if you want the GTA+ month or the simplest preload. Nothing ships, and there is no disc to resell.
- Physical fits you if you want a retailer price guarantee, a gift card or rewards points toward the purchase, or a gift. It is still a code, so you get no disc and resale is doubtful. Confirm that the GTA+ month is included before choosing it.

Bottom line: There is no discount to wait for, so pre-order only if you want it on day one, and do it at Amazon or Best Buy for the price guarantee, or digital if you want the GTA+ month.
