The Quest 3S has had a volatile year on price, and I want to be straight with you up front: I can't verify a live discount on it today. The $349.99 in the title is the post-hike list price as reported, not a live check of any retailer today. Meta raised US prices on April 19, 2026, blaming memory-chip costs, the same pressure behind the Steam Deck price hike. The 128GB model went from $299.99 to $349.99, and the 256GB from $399.99 to $449.99. Anything marked "sale" at those numbers isn't one.
Here's the history I can actually source:
- Launch (Oct 2024): $299.99 for 128GB, $399.99 for 256GB.
- Prime Day 2025: 128GB at $249 at Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart, the low at the time.
- Black Friday 2025: Costco listed 128GB at $200 ($215 for non-members), the cheapest I can find, though stock was reportedly tight. Amazon's best 128GB price was around $250, and the 256GB hit about $330.
- Post-hike (June 2026): 9to5Toys tracked 128GB at $297 and 256GB at $382 at Amazon, with Walmart matching, during Prime Day. That was the lowest since the hike, and the listing has since expired.
I couldn't find a current-week price from any retailer, so check live listings before you buy. If a store shows $297 or less on the 128GB, that matches the best post-hike price I've verified. I can't tell you when the next sale will land.
Before you buy, know that Quest deals often come with bundle sweeteners (trial subscriptions, sometimes a free game) rather than a lower sticker price. Read what's included. Also, Meta said the hike covers refurbished units too, so "certified refurbished" isn't the old shortcut it was.
The pattern is the same one I laid out for the DualSense Edge: the real lows cluster around Prime Day and Black Friday, not random weeks in October. And if you're weighing hardware generally, my take on premium controller pricing follows the same logic: pay for features you'll use, and don't pay for a discount that isn't there.
Bottom line: wait. At $349.99 with no verified sale, you're paying roughly $100 more than Amazon's Black Friday 2025 price and about $150 more than the Costco low. Hold for Black Friday and buy the 128GB at $297 or less; the $250-and-under days are probably gone for now, though I can't prove that.
